Ruling National Resistance Movement has reacted to Tuesday appointment of Joel Ssenyonyi as new spokesperson of People Power Movement headed by Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
While several political commentators belives Ssenyonyi appointment is a big achievement to the oppositions, NRM however, think otherwise.
Below are are collections of some of reactions from different members of the ruling party.
Hon Evelyn Anite: “But this Joel Ssenyonyi is a real political flop!! Remember he stood for Central youth MP in 2011 and was badly flogged! He couldn’t convince the youth. How is he going to convince them now? Indeed “People Power” is a real joke!”
Bebe Cool: “Uganda’s opposition is interesting, a new opposition leader picks followers from the old one, that’s called splitting.Later both agree to join meaning rejoining the followers,OK. It’s like cutting a chapati into two and rejoining the pieces expecting its size to grow bigger. Who is fooling who?”
Don Innocent Wanyama: We can’t claim an independent media when journalists are appointed into partisan positions within days after resignation if from a media house. Mr. Ssenyonyi Joel’s appointment confirms that indeed some of these journalists are in the media as agents of politicians fighting against the ruling Government.
Credit to Uganda Communication Commission, UCC for its recent efforts against media houses whose employees have been culprits of this matter.
Many more are yet to be sacked or else the resign before like Ssenyonyi.
