Sacked Leader of Opposition in Parliament Hon Winnie Kiiza who is also Kasese woman MP said she is still an official opposition leader stating that she has not received any communication from the party president asking her to handover the office.
Her statement follows the recent opposition cabinet reshuffle which was announced by FDC party president Patrick Amoriat Oboi last week.
Oboi while addressing press on Thursday last week said Kiiza who was the helm of Lop since 2016 has been replaced with Gulu district woman MP Betty Aol Ochan. He added that the changes take place with immediate effects and parliament and affected individual would be informed in writing in due course.
Addressing the media at the parliament on Monday, Kiiza who was flanked by Hon Robert Centenary and Hon Elijah Okupah said she is has not yet received such communication.
She clarified that she has been on official trip in United States and only heard of the rumors in newspaper.
She promised to address the nation about her next move after being notified officially about the changes. Okupah on his part said that the appointment which was read by Amoriat was illegal because he (Amoriat) appointed minority leaders which is not in the constitution.
Kasese municipality member of Parliament Hon Robert asked the leadership of FDC to consult with other opposition political party before making any changes in opposition leadership in parliament.
