The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has revealed that the party leaders are being dubbed by yet to be identified people with claims that, they are organising a meeting with the party chairman, President Museveni.
Senior Presidential Press Secretary, Don Innocent Wanyama stated that, they had received reports that some people suspected to be conmen are extorting money from NRM district leaders with the claims of arranging a meeting with the party Chairman on Friday 9, November.
“Please note there is no such meeting and all meetings go through usual party structures,” Wanyama said.
Wanyama did not reveal those who fell victim to the to the conmen and how much they had been conned from unsuspecting NRM leaders.
“We have received reports that some conmen are extorting money from NRM district leaders under the guise of arranging a meeting with the party Chairman Kaguta Museveni tomorrow. Please note there’s no such meeting & all meetings go through usual party structures,” Wanyama stated.

According to the presidential program, Museveni is scheduled to be a chief guest at Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi Silver jubilee celebrations in Mpigi on Friday.
Later in the afternoon, he will launch 340 groups rural women microfinance in Lwengo, according to presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi.
