Revealed: Why Museveni and Kagame skipped Tshisekedi swearing in

The relationship between president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and DR Congo seems not to be healthy according to the latest reports.

While several heads of state were invited for Democratic Republic of Congo historic peaceful power handover, president Museveni and Kagame who are both influential in the region were not invited.

According to Leonard Mulunda (UDPS Spokesperson in South Africa): “Presidents Edgar Lungu (Zambia), Paul kagame (Rwanda) and Yoweri Museveni ( Uganda) were not invited to the inauguration of Felix Tshsisekedi. The State protocol was in charge of invitation.”

Some of 17 Heads of States invited to the inauguration are; Tanzania, Central Africa Republic, Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Africa, Ethiopia , S Soudan, Soudan, Egypt,Sierra Leone, Haïti, Moroco and Ivory Coast .

The revelation has come as a shock to several political commentators who consider president Museveni as the kingmaker in East and Central Africa.

Museveni is currently in Switzerland for World Economic Forum and is yet to congratulate Tshisekedi for his win following disputed December 30 poll.

This is probably the first time presidential Museveni is missing inauguration ceremony within the region.
