The Assistant Secretary of National council of Sports Dr. Benard Ogwel has sent off Uganda’s Netball She-cranes to Zambia with the sole aim to come back victorious.
A team of 12 skilled players have been sent to represent Uganda in African Netball Championships 2018 which are to be played in Lusaka the capital of Zambia.
The continental competitions are going to take place between 13th & 19th of August. Uganda She-cranes has been in training for more than 3 weeks at Lugogo stadium.
Dr Ogwel encouraged the team to play as one in order to bring back the trophy they took last year.Uganda she crane is the current champion of netball in Africa.
She cranes left on Thursday night boarding Ethiopian airline. They are to compete against 7 teams which include Kenya, Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia the host of this year’s tournament.
It should be noted that these competitions are going to be used in selecting the teams which will compete in Netball World cup 2019 to be hosted in Liverpool.
Uganda the reigning champion of Africa is ranked the third after Malawi and South Africa and ranks 6th on the world list.
