The architect of age limit bill 2017 and Igara East member of parliament Raphael Magezi is reportedly ill we have exclusively learned.
The legislator who tabled the controversial bill in the parliament which removed the presidential age limits from the constitution developed some strange illness few days ago.
“He started feeling unwell few days ago, we rushed him to the hospital and the medical team are yet to establish what he is suffering from,” a family member told us on condition of anonymity.
Magezi became popular during the Togitwakako campaign after his bill generated wide ranging debate across the country.
A family source further told us since tabling the bill, Magezi made more enemies and having been living in fear.
“We hope the doctors will establish what he is suffering from because as of now we are so worried fearing for his life,” the source further added.
Magezi is expected to be appointed as minister in the next cabinet reshuffle as a way to reward him for job well done but as for now, the family concern is his health with others fearing he could have been poisoned.
The source has however, declined to give us more details stating privacy concerns adding that they cannot at the moment reveal to us the hospital he is currently receiving treatment from and which doctor is handling the member of parliament.
We were unable to get statement from Magezi as all his known phones were unreachable and our text messages went unanswered.
His personal assistant also refused to comment on the issue referring us to his boss.
